KUALA LUMPUR, June 7 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Melayu Boleh track cyclist Mohd Rizal Tisin's decision to delay his return to Melbourne for training so as to compete in Iran, paid dividends when he swept two gold and two silver medals in a local track cycling championship in Iran last week.Rizal who delayed his return to intensive training with the national elite sprints squad in Melbourne to join Iran based Azad University Continental cycling team for competitions, won the keirin and 1km time trial events plus adding two silver medals through the 200m individual and team Sprint events.

"Although the championship involved only local cyclists from Iran, it turned out to be a very good start for me as I have not taken part in competitions since the March, World Track Cycling Championships in Poland," this Melayu Boleh cyclist told Bernama here today.

The Klang born cyclist said he may compete in two other local (Iran) championship but added that it would largely depend on whether his team, Azad University needed his services or not.

"For the time being I will train at the National Sports Council (NSC) according to the training programme prepared by National cycling coach John Beasley," he said.
