Mohamed Nor Khalid @ Datuk Lat start his professional career began at the age of thirteen when his cartoons were published in Majalah filem and Movie News. Although still in his teens, his first album "Sekawan Tiga" and "Keluarga Si Mamat" appears weekly in the newspaper News Minggu. In 1974, this Melayu Boleh artistic talent men was recognized and he became editorial cartoonist of the New Straits Times, a Malaysian newspaper.

He showed his Melayu Boleh talent at the newspaper a decade later on a freelance basis. Over the years, Datuk Lat take challenge for all kinds Lat caricature political, social and gag cartoons, comic strips, advertisements, and animation. Datuk Lat is best known for his comic strip "Kampung Boy." His many achievements were crowned by the award of the prestigious Malaysian honorific "Datuk" in 1994.
