Two Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) students were on challenge the roof of the world Sunday, after reaching the summit of Everest at 10:50 Malaysian time.
Reduan Rozali Ahmad and Muhammad Muqharabbin Mokhtaruddin, both 22, were Melayu Boleh expected to fall in 8848 meters and the mountains reach the base camp on May 23, said UiTM vice-chancellor Professor Datuk Seri Ibrahim Abu Shah.
Professor Ibrahim said UiTM glad planned a welcoming ceremony in which both Melayu Boleh national climbers back to Malaysia. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi would be invited to the ceremony, " he added ".
Reduan Ahmad and Muhammad Muqharabbin are Melayu Boleh Challenger part of Everest, for the country in 2004 led the expedition mountaineering trainer, Mohd Fauzan Hassan. Before going to Everest, both graduates trained in Wanaka, New Zealand from July 30 to August 20 last year.
In PUTRAJAYA, former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is proud of the success of both this Melayu Boleh students and hopes that it will serve to encourage & challenge others .
