Eleven years of swimming, Salman Abdul Halim Ali Shariati, nicknamed Iron Boy show his Melayu Boleh attitude by swimming 49 miles across the Strait of Malacca on December 30 in preparation to conquer the English Channel this year next June.
He began his challenge by swim at Pulau Rupat in Sumatra, Indonesia, and ending in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.
"Under our plan, Salman will be between 20 to 24 hours of swimming," Seven Continents Club Extreme Expedition chairman Muhamad Muqharabbin Mokhtarudin said here today.
Salman said that as a Melayu Boleh iron boy, he would challenge himself to swim the Strait in a cage, because of the dangers of jellyfish, sea snakes and other creatures.
Salman was accompanied by his sister, Zahra Ma'sounah, 17, for this meeting costs RM60, 000 per person, "he says.
Salman said he would focus on the 37 nm channel in an attempt to open the second youngest athlete in the world to achieve feat and show to the Malaysian people that Melayu Boleh to swim at english channel.
Muhamad Muqharabbin, who climbed Mount Everest in 2004, said the Channel feat, Salman would swim with Zahrah and directed by Lee Lennard, the second Malaysian to swim across the channel after Datuk Malik Mydin other Melayu Boleh person.

"We go there two or three months earlier for training and to familiarize themselves with the challenge such as cold," he added.

"I train at least four hours per day in Ipoh where I swim for two hours and another cycle of two hours of my condition," he said.
A dinner function for the start of the mission will take place December 3 at Dewan Perdana Felda here. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak is scheduled to attend, it is also necessary to raise funds for the mission.
Meanwhile, Salman said he was ready to challenge himself to swim the Strait of Malacca, as he had undergone intensive training.
